Poha or aval is flattened rice, originating from India. In North India they call it as Poha and South India they say Aval. There are lot for dishes made out of this aval or poha..
It is easy and healthy breakfast too.

Ingredients:

  • Poha/Aval: 2 cups
  • Onion – 1/2 cup
  • Peanut – 1/2 cup
  • Curry leaves- few
  • Green chillies – 2 slit
  • Mustard, cumin, urad dhall – 1/2 tsp each
  • Oil – 2 tsp
  • Dry red chillies – 2
  • Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp.
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  1. Heat a kadai and add oil.
  2. Once heat add mustard, cumin and urad dhall.
  3. Add green chillies, red chillies and curry leaves and saute
  4. Add peanut and saute for 2mins
  5. Add onions and saute until soft. Add turmeric powder and mix.
  6. Now put the soaked poha and mix them well. Add some salt.
  7. Sprinkle some water and close & cook for 3 mins in simmer.
  8. Mix well and add some coriander leaves.
  9. Turn off the flame and add lemon juice.
  10. Serve hot

Note:You can skip onions if you do not prefer. Also any vegetable can be added too.
