Senaikizhangu or Yam is one of my favorite vegetable. But here i get only frozen. This recipe is a spicy tangy fry that goes good as side dish for any rice and sambar. Please try this recipe at home and share your feedback in the comment section below. Do not forget to subscribe the channel

Ingredients:

  • Yam/Senaikizhangu (used frozen 2 pckts.)
  • Salt as required
  • Tamarind paste -1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder
  • Turmeric
  • Curry leaves
  • Hing
  • Oil 4 tbsp
  • Mustars – 1 tsp
  1. In a pan add oil. Once oil is hot add mustard seeds and splutter
  2. Add chopped yam or senaikizhangu
  3. Add tamarind paste or tamarind juice.
  4. Mix them well. Close and cook them for about 5-6 mins.
  5. Add salt, red chilli powder and turmeric.
  6. Close and cook for another 5 mins on medium flame.
  7. Now open and keep cooking them until they are nicely roasted.
  8. Add hing and curry leaves and mix well.
  9. Serve with any rice.
