An easy, crispy and tasty chips nicely tossed in salt and red chilli powder. Vazhakkai or plantain Chips is easy to make like potato.Just peel the skin, slice to thin layers and deep fry. Ingredients:

  • Plantain 1
  • Salt
  • Red chilli powder
  • Oil for deep frying.
  1. Peel the plantain skin. Slice them thin slices .
  2. Add them in water to avoid darkening.
  3. Now place them in a towel and pat dry.
  4. Heat oil in kadai and start dropping the plantain slices one by one.
  5. Fry them crisp on both sides.
  6. Transfer to plate.
  7. In a bowl add the chips, salt and red chilli powder.
  8. Mix them well. Toss them so that they are coated evenly.
  9. Enjoi the snacks.
  • Note:
  • Make sure the plantain slices are very thin.
  • Always pat dry before dropping in oil.
  • Also cook on medium flame.
  • If for kids you can also add pepper instead of red chilli powder.
