Cabbage Dry curry | Cabbage Poriyal |Cabbage stir fry | Cabbage Coconut fry |

Cabbage curry is one mild side dish for lunch. Cabbage cooked with coconut and its mild in spice level. Dry curry is usually made with or without coconut. In my chilhood, i usually mix all poriyals with white rice and ghee.Even now i do that. This poriyal is good for kids. You can serve this with rice, sambar or kootu.

  • Serves : 2 persons.

Ingredients:

  • Cabbage – 1 fully chopped
  • Oil
  • Mustard
  • Dry Red chillies -2
  • Curry leaves few
  • Salt
  • Urad dal – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin – 1 tsp
  • Water 1/4 cup
  • Coconut – 2 cups
  1. In a pan add oil. Once oil is hot add mustard seeds. Splutter
  2. Add cumin, urad dal, dry red chillies and curry leaves. Fry for a min
  3. Add chopped cabbage. and mix well.
  4. Add salt as required and sprinkle 1/4 cup water.
  5. Close and cook for 10mins.
  6. Add shedded coconut and mix well.
  7. Turn off and transfer to bowl.
  8. Serve with any rice or sambar.
  • Note: You can also add frozen peas.
  • Also some people prefer onion. Saute onion and then add cabbage.
  • Make sure water is fully evaporated before adding coconut.
  • Shredded or chopped carrot can be added.
