Godhumai rava upma is usual breakfast in all South Indian house. I never preferred upma. This recipe is one healthy breakfast and nutritional one. This upma is best suited for diabetic people. When loaded with veggies, it can be a quick lunch box recipes for kids too.

Ingredients:

  • Oil- 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds- 1 tbsp
  • Chana dal- 1/2tbsp
  • Urad dal- 1/2 tbsp
  • Cumin – 1 tsp
  • Curry Leaves Few
  • Green chillies 4
  • Ginger- 1 tsp
  • Onions- 1/2 cup
  • Veggies of your choice- 1/2 cup( beans, carrot, peas, potato etc.)
  • Wheat rava – 2 cups
  • Water- 3 cups
  • Salt as required
  • Coriander leaves few
  • Ghee- 1tsp
  1. Turn on saute mode on Instant pot with medium temperature.
  2. Add oil once it is hot. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
  3. Add chana dal and urad dal. Fry until golden color
  4. Add cumin seeds now.
  5. Add curry leaves, green chillies and ginger. Fry them for a min.
  6. Add onions and saute until they are soft.
  7. Add the chooped veggies and mix them well.
  8. Now add the wheat rava and mix everything.
  9. Add water and salt and mix well.
  10. Now close the lid and seal the vent.
  11. Cancel saute mode and turn on pressure cook mode.
  12. Set the time for 5mins and high temperature. Press the start button.
  13. Once done wait for the pressure to release naturally and open the lid.
  14. Add coriander leaves and ghee for garnish and serve hot.
