Arisi Paruppu Sadham | Dal Rice Recipe | Variety Rice Recipe | அரிசி பருப்பு சாதம் | This variety rice is one easy recipe and can be made in 10 mins in instant pot. The same method can be followed in pressure cooker with 2 whistles on medium flame.

Ingredients:

  • Oil – 3tbsp
  • Fennel seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves few
  • Green chillies 3
  • Ginger garlic – 1 tsp
  • Onion- 1 cup
  • Tomato – 1 chopped
  • Turmeric a pinch
  • Rice 1 cup
  • Toor dal- 1/2 cup
  • Water- 2.5 cups
  • Salt to taste.
  1. Wash rice and toor dal and soak them for 15mins.
  2. Turn on saute mode on Instant pot. Once the pot is hot add oil.
  3. Add fennel seeds, curry leaves and green chillies.
  4. Add ginger garlic and saute for a min.
  5. Add the onions and cook until they are soft.
  6. Add tomato and saute them well.
  7. Add rice, toor dal and water. Salt to taste.
  8. Close the lid and cancel saute mode.
  9. Turn on pressure cook mode and timer to 4 mins.
  10. Once done quick release the pressure and garnish with coriander leaves.
  11. Serve with fryums.
