Suzhiyan is a traditional sweet made during festive times. They are made with coconut and jaggery. You can also replace with Dal and jaggery.

  • Serves: 20 balls.

Ingredients:

  • Powdered jaggery- 1 cup
  • Water 2 tbsp
  • Shredded coconut- 1.5 cups
  • Cardamom powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Maida – 1 cup
  • Salt- 1/2 tsp
  • Oil for deep frying
  1. Ina pan add jaggery and water. Let it melt and cook for 3mins.
  2. Add shredded coconut and mix them well until they combine.
  3. Add cardamom powder and mix them.
  4. Cook for 4-5 min on low flame.
  5. Turn off the flame and transfer to a plate to cool down.
  6. In a bowl add maida, salt and water. Mix well to form a thick batter.
  7. Make small balls of coconut jaggery balls and set aside.
  8. Once oil is hot dip the coconut balls in the maida batter and drop one by one in hot oil. fry them golden all sides.
  9. Serve them for a snack.
