Coconut Chutney | Easy breakfast chutney | Side dish for dosa idly | Thengai Chutney |

A very common chutney used in South Indian home, esp. for idli and dosa. Also for upma and pongal. I know this is very easy recipe to make. But still would like to share it.

  • Serves: 3 persons

Ingredients:

  • To grind: Coconut – 1 cup
  • Green chilli – 4
  • Roasted gram – 1/2 cup
  • Tamarind – a small piece
  • Salt to taste.
  • To temper: Mustard seeds: 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dhall- 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves few
  • Dry Red chilly – 1
  1. Grind all the ingredients in To grind to fine paste.
  2. Then add some coconut oil to tadka pan and add the items in temper. Once done add to the chutney.
  3. Chutney is ready for any dosa or idli.

Note: You can add piece of garlic or small onion or tomato.
