Ingredients:

  • Onion – 1 roughly chopped
  • Ginger 1 piece
  • Garlic 4 pods
  • Coriander handful
  • Spinach leaves – 10to 12

Add these to blender and grind to smooth paste.

  • Basmati rice – 1 cup (wash and soak)
  • Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Cinnamon – 1 stick
  • Mace 1 piece
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Shahi jeera – 1 tsp
  • Green chillies 2
  • Frozen peas – 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  1. In a pressure cooker add ghee, cinnamon stick, mace, bay leaf, shahi jeera and green chillies. Fry them for a min
  2. Add frozen peas and mix.
  3. Now add the grind spinach paste.
  4. Add turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala.
  5. Add water one cup and salt to taste
  6. Once water boils add the soaked rice. Mix well.
  7. Pressure cook 15mins on medium flame and 5 mins low flame.
  8. Garnish with cashew and fried onions.
