Let’s start with Veggie Momos.
Ingredients:
- For Outer layering:
- Maida -2 cups
- Salt
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Water to knead the dough
- In a bowl add maida, salt and oil. Mix well.
- Add water little by little to form soft dough.
- Knead them for 5mins.
- Apply oil little bit and rest them for 30mins.
- For Stuffing:
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Garlic and ginger- 2 tsp finely chopped.
- Green chilli -1
- Spring onion – 1/2 cup
- Cabbage shredded – 3 cups
- Shredded carrot – 1.5 cups
- Salt
- Pepper 2 tsp
- Spring onions 1/2 cup
- In a pan add oil. Once hot add ginger and garlic.
- Fry them for a min.
- Add green chilli and spring onion and saute them.
- Add cabbage and carrot and cook them for 5mins.
- Add salt and pepper.
- Garnish with spring onions.
- Allow them to cool.
Lets make momo’s
- Now take small ball from the dough and roll them very thin.
- Add the veggies.
- Start pleating slowly. Seal them properly.
- Now place the momo in the idly steamer or any steamer.
- Steam for 15mins.
- Remove and serve hot with momo chutney.
Let’s Make Momo chutney:
Ingredients:
- Tomato -3
- Red chillies -7
- Garlic 3
- Ginger 1 tsp
- Soy sauce 1 tsp
- Vinegar 1 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Sugar 1 tsp
- water 3 cups
- In a vessel add water. Add tomatoes and red chillies.
- Let them boil for 7mins
- Once tomatoes are blanched completely remove them.
- Peel the skin of tomatoes.
- In a blender add tomatoes and red chillies.
- Add garlic, ginger, salt, sugar, soy sauce and vinegar
- Blend to smooth paste.
- Transfer to bowl and serve with momo’s
